How to embed a policy on a Squarespace site
Updated over a week ago

Termly provides three ways to embed a policy on your Squarespace website.

Your options include:

  • HTML format: Pasting static HTML directly to your website

  • URL: Linking to a Termly-hosted URL (available for Pro+ users)

  • Code snippet: Embedding the policy on your page using a code snippet (available for Pro+ users)

HTML Format

To add your policy text using HTML, first navigate to your Squarespace page where you’d like the text of the policy to appear, or create a new page for your policy.

Click Edit, and click Add Section to create a block section.

Next, click an insert point, and click </> Code to add a code block. Return to your Termly Dashboard and select your policy. Then click Add to Website, select HTML Format, and click Copy To Clipboard.

Return to your Squarespace page and paste your HTML into the code block. Remember to Save and publish your page. We recommend dragging the corners of the frame to resize the policy to best fit your page.

You can now add the policy page to your menu, link to it in your footer, or link to it elsewhere on your website where your customers can easily access it.

URL

You can add links on Squarespace to text, buttons, images, and more. To add your policy using a URL, go to your Termly dashboard and select the policy you would like to embed. Click Add to Website, select URL, click Copy to Clipboard, and then paste the URL onto the page text, button, or other object where you would like the link to appear.

This is a Termly-hosted URL. This ensures you get automatic updates whenever changes are made to your policies to keep you compliant.

Code Snippet

To add your policy directly as a code snippet, first navigate to the page you’d like the text of the policy to appear or create a new page for your policy.

Click Edit, and click Add Section to create a block section. Next, click an insert point, and click </> Code to add a code block. Return to your Termly Dashboard and select your policy. Then click Add to Website, select Code Snippet, and click Copy To Clipboard.

Return to your Squarespace page and paste your Code Snippet into the code block and click Apply. Save and publish your page.

You can now add the policy page to your menu, link to it in your footer, or link to it elsewhere on your website where your customers can easily access it. The code snippet will appear as an iframe on your page.

This method also ensures you get automatic updates whenever changes are made to your policies to keep you compliant.

Additional information on how to add blocks and how to use code blocks can be found on Squarespace’s support site.
